2008 was the first full year of operation for OceansWatch

What OceansWatch has accomplished so far:

In 2007 we undertook 2 week long investigative trips to PNG and Vanuatu.

In 2008 the yacht Magic Roundabout undertook a 5 month project in Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea doing Reef Check monitoring of reefs and establishing relationships with communities.

In 2009 Magic Roundabout spent six months in Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

In Vanuatu we assisted the Fisheries department in the monitoring of their reefs, in the Solomon Islands we helped the community set up a large Marine Protected Area and in Papua New Guinea we worked again to assist communities to better manage their reef resources.
