We receive no government support and rely on the generosity of donors for our operations.
Donate money
OceansWatch represents outstanding value for money to donors. Our mode of operation means that for not much more than the maintenance of our project lead yachts and the administration of a very small business we can have skilled teams operating in many island communities in the world's developing countries.
In support of our lead boats we have a flotilla of skilled and enthusiastic members on cruising yachts available to assist us. These cruising yachts can accommodate the other specialists who support us, including marine biologists, dive masters and instructors, medical teams and a myriad of other enthusiastic volunteers.
We seek donations for:
-
Yacht refit expenses
-
Office administration expenses
-
Office equipment such as computers etc
-
Purchase of dive gear for our project lead yachts
-
Specific project expenses such as our Karkar water system
-
Ongoing yacht maintenance (or yacht chandlery sponsorship)
Donate a yacht
If you have a yacht that you would like to donate or lease to OceansWatch as a project lead boat, please contact us to discuss possibilities. We can accept 100% yacht donations, which will give you tax benefits in New Zealand or the whole amount can be claimed as a tax rebate in the USA.
We can also just look after your yacht for a peppercorn rental which allows you to retain ownership but means you have no costs and your yacht gets well maintained.
For all Yacht donations contact Chris Bone
or chris@oceanswatch.org
All our yachts are maintained to exacting USA commercial charter or New Zealand Catagory 1 offshore standards.
Donate items
We also accept any other items that we could sell to raised money or that we could use on our expeditions to the island countries.
