An OceansWatch project lead yacht will leave New Zealand around May 1 2009. First stop will be Efate where they will rendezvous with the OceansWatch Solomons and PNG lead yacht Magic Roundabout.In Efate the teams from both yachts and any other members who are interested will undertake ReefCheck training. After training this project will be spending about 2-3 weeks in about 8 communities undertaking ReefCheck and other surveying and encouraging the communities to develop sustainable fishery management practices and Marine Protected Areas. The team will also be supporting local schools and assisting Vanuatu Fisheries when it can.If members are interested in joining the OceansWatch lead boat to assist on this campaign please contact Chris Bone
