Big Hugs and Hello from Cap Donna. US based in Florida... There is alot of excitement right now in OW with all the donations of vessels for project work...Awesome.. The huge investments of the team to research in the islands has really brought some tremendous projects. The efforts are focusing and the official development of OceansWatch USA is happening. There are many tremendous ways to get OW before the US based yacht community and soon I hope Jane and I can work to get some articles together to submit to magazines like Latitudes and Attitudes, Cruising world, Sail... all who have followed me around the world in my solo sail... REally they are waiting for me to do some follow up as I am a bit behind... i have been a bit frustrated as the initial refit of the lovely sv_Sherry Lee, that I work with, has been a much more dynamic overhaul then we could have imagined. But it is adding to my experience with every type of system on board which will forever come in handy sailing for OW...I do appreciate any encouragement and chatter from the US members of OW as it feels like I am a bit out on a limb being half a world away from friends and the activity of the NZ base of OW.. I so look forward to hearing from US members and making plans to get reef check trainings, survey trainings happening in yachting centers.. I also will look to include the work "For the Love of Oceans" which is an education and advocacy program to help us all stay in touch with what is happening with Us and World policy regarding the state of the oceans... We can effect change all around the world, from our boats everywhere in the world.... biggest hugs and hello.... you can always keep up with my micro world, my family and doings, music and life in my website....Certainly anyone near Florida!!! Email me!!!! I love to hear from you!! xoxoxoxo
