Hi, my name is Louise (Lou). I've just discovered OceansWatch and I'm really keen to meet all you guys and help out in any way I can!

I'm currently living in Sydney but I hail from the UK. I work as a Bush Regenerator, which means I remove exotic weeds from nature reserves and bushland, and help the native flora to regenerate itself. It's a great job and great to be outdoors. I've just discovered an organisation called Harbour Keepers who are involved in cleaning up Sydney Harbour, doing fish surveys and aquatic weed removal among other things, so I'm planning to get involved with a bit of that.

I've worked for the Environment Agency in the UK, working the locks and weirs on the river Thames, and doing some fish and invertebrate surveys. At the moment I'm studying Oceanography as part of a part-time bachelors degree, which I am enjoying immensely :)

I'm hoping to get a bit of experience in sailing so I can come on trips with OW. I've just finished my PADI advanced diving certificate, which I did at a place called South West Rocks in NSW, an awesome site for diving and on a migration path for grey nurse sharks :)
